Making campsites bookable online – topic at the trade fair in Rimini
From 12-14 October 2022, the 40th SUN Beach&Outdoor Style for camping and tourism entrepreneurs took place in Rimini – at the same time as the TTG Travel Experience, the leading tourism trade fair in Italy, and the SIA Hospitality Design Fair. Around 2,200 companies presented themselves to the many trade visitors. ADAC Camping and PiNCAMP were also there for the camping entrepreneurs with an exhibition stand. ADAC Camping was also represented at the stand of its cooperation partner, the Italian camping association FAITA Federcamping.
Many campsite operators came to get advice about online booking on PiNCAMP
Uwe Frers, Managing Director of ADAC Camping GmbH, and FAITA Federcamping President Alberto Granzotto were also among the industry experts on stage in the Outdoor Arena. They and other experts offered perspectives on the development of the camping business in Italy and Europe. In front of around 90 camping and travel experts, Frers pointed out that 67 % of Italian campsites are not yet bookable online on PiNCAMP.
Users are specifically looking for campsites that can be booked online – an opportunity also for small sites
Frers pointed out that many of the 6 million German PiNCAMP users search for online bookable campsites every year. According to Uwe Frers, many of the users particularly appreciate the easy handling and speed of online camping bookings.
Campsites that can be booked online are clearly more visible on PiNCAMP.
As an example, the marketing expert mentioned the search for free campsites on the Italian Adriatic coast: Thanks to online bookability, even smaller campsites have a chance to be well visible, to generate bookings and thus to hold their own against large competitors.
