PiNCAMP, the camping portal of the European mobility clubs ADAC, ANWB and TCS, has published the Top 100 of the most popular campsites for German campers in 2026. The demand from German campers is distributed across campsites in nine European countries. At the top of the ranking is once again the Camping- und Ferienpark Wulfener Hals on Fehmarn.
Campsites from nine countries in the Europe Top 100
The Europe Top 100 include campsites from nine European countries. Germany, Italy, and Croatia account for the largest share of the ranking with a total of 87 of the 100 most requested campsites. At the same time, six other camping countries are represented: Austria, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, and Slovenia.
Within the three most strongly represented countries, clear regional focal points are also emerging. Most Top 100 campsites are located on the German Baltic Sea, on the Italian Adriatic Coast, and in Istria (Croatia).

Wulfener Hals on Fehmarn defends 1st place
The Camping- und Ferienpark Wulfener Hals on Fehmarn once again claims the top position. Rosenfelder Strand Ostsee Camping in Schleswig-Holstein follows in second place. The campsite was not yet represented in the Top 100 last year and is thus the highest-placed newcomer in the current ranking. Third place is held by Vela Blu Camping Village in Italy, which improved by nine places compared to the previous year.

High demand is not just a matter of size
The Top 100 most popular campsites for German campers demonstrate the diversity of camping tourism. On average, the sites have 422 pitches and 195 rental accommodations. 73 percent of those ranked hold 4.5 or 5 ADAC stars. Nevertheless, the ranking makes it clear: neither size nor a high ADAC classification alone explains the demand.
Among the most popular campsites for German campers are some of the largest camping resorts in Europe – such as Valamar Camping Lanterna in Croatia with more than 3,200 pitches and rental accommodations, as well as Marina di Venezia Camping Village and Union Lido Mare in Italy with over 3,000 and around 2,700 pitches and rental accommodations respectively. At the same time, significantly smaller campsites also make it into the Top 100, including Campingplatz Alpenblick in Bavaria with 74 pitches and rental accommodations or Landschapscamping Kijkuit in Zeeland (Netherlands) with 77. In the ADAC classification, the spectrum ranges from five to three stars.
“Camping vacations today are more diverse than ever before. The search queries of German campers show a wide range of location, facilities, quality, price, and experiences. This diversity in camping is inspiring more and more people,” says Uwe Frers, camping expert and Managing Director of PiNCAMP.
Methodology
The “PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026” ranking is based on the page views of German users on PiNCAMP.de in the period from January 1 to July 31, 2026. Only campsites with at least four user reviews and an average rating of at least 7 out of 10 points are considered. Based on this data, both the Europe-wide Top 100 most requested campsites for German campers and the country rankings are created.
